Wedding day

One year later

We've been busy unpacking and getting settled into our new home. It takes a little longer with a baby around and I've been back to work for a little over a week now :( Olivia is loving her time with Grandma Rees though while mom is away. Tomorrow she will be two months! Wow! It really seems like I just had her. Today was her 2 month check. 5 shots! Poor baby! Before she got them I swear she was flirting with the assistant. She kept smiling and cooing at him. Then all of a sudden 5 big pokes. That will teach her to flirt with boys.. way to young for that!
Head: 38cm 30th%
Weight: 10lbs 11.5 oz 50th%
Length: 23 1/4 in 83%
She's doing great!

Next time I need to pay attention so I don't cut off her head ;)

And Baby Makes Three

Olivia Paige Canyon was born 9/18/09...right on time! We were a little surprised when my contractions started Thursday night. Earlier that week I had gone to the doctor and there was still nothing happening. My doctor told me he was going to enduce me the following weekend so she would be born on the 26th. Luckily though Olivia was ready to come on her own. The whole labor thing went great! I had contractions all night Thursday and then in the morning around 10 we went to the hospital. I really didn't want to get sent home so we waited and called my doctor in the morning to see what he thought. After telling the nurse my symptoms she told us she thought it was time to head to the hospital. Everything went so smooth. The nurses at Thunderbird were amazing.. I loved them all. They really made the whole process so easy and comfortable for the both of us.
I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who came to visit or sent messages to us. It made us both feel so loved and the support was great. Having good family and friends makes all the difference.
So now we are home and getting use to each other and this new routine. But honestly it as been so easy so far. Its crazy to think that we are parents but at the same time it just seems so natural. Jon is an amazing dad and is so in love. The feeling is mutual from Olivia too. She loves to just stare at him and turns her head whenever she hears his voice. So things are good. Things are great actually. I am so happy and so blessed to have a perfect little girl and the best husband ever.

38 weeks...

And nothing! I know that technically I have two more weeks to go, but come on.. I'm done. A couple of weeks early isn't asking too much is it? Apparently for the little princess inside me it is. She seems to be quite content in her little home. I went to the doctor today and he told me that I'm not even a one yet. He called it a finger tip dialation and was able to feel the top of her head and that my cervix is soft but other than that.. nothing. The good news is that he thinks there is only a 5% chance that I will need a c section. So that's good I guess. I know that I shouldn't complain because really I have had a very easy pregnancy with no complications. But I'm hot and I'm tired and I just want to see my baby. I want to see her cute little feet and see who's eyes and nose and everything she has. I want to see all of the black hair that we all are assuming she will have. I just want to hold her in my arms and give her kisses. But I guess if I have to wait a little longer that won't be so bad. I know that there are a few things that I will actually miss about being pregnant. I will miss feeling her move inside me. It's really the neatest feeling in the world and you can't explain it you really have to experience it. I will miss how excited I get to have an ultrasound and see what she looks like now. I will miss having her with me always. Right now I never have to leave her.. 24/7 she is my little buddy. I will also miss eating whenever and whatever I want and not having to worry too much about it. So I should just enjoy these next few days or weeks and not complain or get frustrated. She will be here soon enough and then the "fun" will begin.

Update.. FINALLY...I know!

It's been a little while since I last updated. Not because I haven't had anything to write about, but because I'm really bad at this, and things have been pretty busy. Honestly since it has been so long I don't even know where to start. Ok, I'm 30 weeks now (yay!) and feeling pretty good. The baby is growing and moving like crazy.. very active little girl. Hopefully we will know soon if I will still need a C-section. I'm really ok doing it either way since I don't know any different, but I would just like to know which way we are going to do this for sure. She is still a no name (poor little girl) but we do have it narrowed down to 4. Jon promised me that by my shower we would have a name picked out, so that's not too much longer. This heat hasn't been very fun , but luckily I work inside and my parents have a pool. Jon, Titan and myself have been going over there to swim the last three weekends. A few weeks ago we took a day trip to Oak Creek. Seriously a little piece of heaven. The day we went it was easily mid to low 70's!!

Since Jon and I will be moving about a month after the baby is born we aren't getting a nursery ready. Its hard not being able to do that yet just because it makes me feel like I'm not really ready. Plus it would be so much fun. We did get a crib the other week and our plan was to keep it in its box until we moved, but I just had to see it. So Jon being the good husband that he is put it together for me.

I think the crib is really cute, but after going to a few other baby stores I decided that I didn't like it anymore. I wasn't really happy with the quality, it didn't seem very sturdy, and I figured even if it cost us a little more money, having a good, safe crib would be worth it. So yesterday Jon took this one apart and re packaged it. I was going to take some pics of him doing that, but I didn't want to push my luck :)
A few people have been asking for a belly picture update so here it is. My big belly :P

We're having a . . .

GIRL!!! We just found out yesterday and are so excited and suprised. I could have sworn we were having a boy, and most people that guessed thought we were too. I love going the doctor because I love seeing the baby..it makes it more real. But yesterday was the best one. It was the first one that Jon was able to go to and I loved watching his expressions as he watched the baby. Everything looks good and she was so active. She was having a good time in there. She seems to be a little stubborn too. I don't know where she would get that from :) When we were trying to see her little parts she kept crossing her legs or putting her heals in the way. She finally gave us a peak and then put her hand down there to cover herself. I guess she's just a little lady ;) So now that we know what we are having we can start shopping (yay) and deciding on a name. I think that could take a while though.

sucking her thumb

This is what she looks like from the outside. I officailly can't button any of my pants so I guess I will be doing a little shopping for me too

Happy Birthday Jon

Yesterday was Jon's birthday. He is now the big 33! We had a nice dinner with a few friends at the Cheesecake Factory mmmm! Then we went back to Heather's for cake and guitar hero. We kept it pretty simple this year but I think he still had a very happy birthday.

12 Weeks and Counting

I know that I already posted, but then I realized that I hadn't said anything about our baby yet. I am currently 12 weeks..yay! So far pregnancy has been...well... I'm not loving it, but I know that I could be feeling alot worse and that we are so blessed to be having a baby so I try my best not to complain...too much. I'm actually starting to feel better lately. I can actually eat real food and real portions and I have a little more energy. Jon has been so amazing and supportive. Whatever it is that I need, no matter how big or small my demands are, he is always willing to get it for me. He even does most of the chores around the house and makes me just rest after work. I know that this has been an adjustment for him but he really had been so good to me. Everyone tells me that the second trimester is alot easier, so I guess we will just have to see if that's true for me.

This is about 8 weeks and the baby just looks like a blob

This is at 11 weeks and he/she actually looks like a baby. It's amazing the difference in just 3 weeks. I really like this one because his/her hand and fingers are so obvious.

Yep, I have a belly. I use to get a little bloated by the end of the day, but by morning I had my flat tummy again. Not anymore, this thing is here for a while and is only going to get bigger.

The Canyon Family's Newest Addition

On Feb 24th Jon's sister Jessica had a beautiful baby boy. She named him Malakiah Isaa Canyon, ( Kiah for short) and he was 9lbs 5oz 21inches long. She did great! It only took about 30 min of pushing and the nurses told her that she made having a 9lbs baby look easy. We are all just so happy for her and know that she is going to be a good mom. Congrats Jess! We love you both so much.

I love this kids hair! There is seriously so much!
