We're having a . . .

GIRL!!! We just found out yesterday and are so excited and suprised. I could have sworn we were having a boy, and most people that guessed thought we were too. I love going the doctor because I love seeing the baby..it makes it more real. But yesterday was the best one. It was the first one that Jon was able to go to and I loved watching his expressions as he watched the baby. Everything looks good and she was so active. She was having a good time in there. She seems to be a little stubborn too. I don't know where she would get that from :) When we were trying to see her little parts she kept crossing her legs or putting her heals in the way. She finally gave us a peak and then put her hand down there to cover herself. I guess she's just a little lady ;) So now that we know what we are having we can start shopping (yay) and deciding on a name. I think that could take a while though.

sucking her thumb

This is what she looks like from the outside. I officailly can't button any of my pants so I guess I will be doing a little shopping for me too

Happy Birthday Jon

Yesterday was Jon's birthday. He is now the big 33! We had a nice dinner with a few friends at the Cheesecake Factory mmmm! Then we went back to Heather's for cake and guitar hero. We kept it pretty simple this year but I think he still had a very happy birthday.

12 Weeks and Counting

I know that I already posted, but then I realized that I hadn't said anything about our baby yet. I am currently 12 weeks..yay! So far pregnancy has been...well... I'm not loving it, but I know that I could be feeling alot worse and that we are so blessed to be having a baby so I try my best not to complain...too much. I'm actually starting to feel better lately. I can actually eat real food and real portions and I have a little more energy. Jon has been so amazing and supportive. Whatever it is that I need, no matter how big or small my demands are, he is always willing to get it for me. He even does most of the chores around the house and makes me just rest after work. I know that this has been an adjustment for him but he really had been so good to me. Everyone tells me that the second trimester is alot easier, so I guess we will just have to see if that's true for me.

This is about 8 weeks and the baby just looks like a blob

This is at 11 weeks and he/she actually looks like a baby. It's amazing the difference in just 3 weeks. I really like this one because his/her hand and fingers are so obvious.

Yep, I have a belly. I use to get a little bloated by the end of the day, but by morning I had my flat tummy again. Not anymore, this thing is here for a while and is only going to get bigger.

The Canyon Family's Newest Addition

On Feb 24th Jon's sister Jessica had a beautiful baby boy. She named him Malakiah Isaa Canyon, ( Kiah for short) and he was 9lbs 5oz 21inches long. She did great! It only took about 30 min of pushing and the nurses told her that she made having a 9lbs baby look easy. We are all just so happy for her and know that she is going to be a good mom. Congrats Jess! We love you both so much.

I love this kids hair! There is seriously so much!

Oh Baby!

Yep! That's right! I'm pregnant. Jon and I found out a few weeks ago and were planning on keeping it our little secret for a while but exciting news like this is just so hard to keep to yourself. The night that we found out we both were a little surprised. I don't know why but we both thought it would take longer than it did. But after taking 3 pregnancy tests all of which were positive we accepted the fact that we are going to be parents. Jon was in shock for a couple of days, but we are both really excited. I guess we are just making up for lost time. I definitly have a lot of the symptoms, but I just know it could be worse so I try not to complain. I had my first appointment last week. I love my doctor by the way.. he is just so nice. The baby is about half an inch and has a very strong heart beat. It is seriously the cutest little bean I've ever seen. Our little bundle of joy is due September 18th. Stay tuned for more belly updates.

Snow Day

Last weekend we went to Flagstaff to play in the snow. I was wondering how much snow would be left to play in since it has been pretty warm down here lately. Luckily there was tons!! At some points it went above my knee!! Heather really wanted to build a snowman since she never had before and Jon wanted to try out Heather's snowboard. It was a lot of fun playing up there but I'm still glad that I don't have to live in it.

This pic is for Ari... you know why

Heather sunk in so for once I am taller!

Holiday Fun

I have been so bad at taking pictures lately. The only Christmas pictures I took were all actually taken before Christmas. My New Years resolution is to take more pictures an be better at blogging. This is the only journal I have, so I have to do better.. and I will.
I love the holidays for a lot of reasons, but mostly because we get to spend time with family and friends. Remembering some good times and making new memories...seriously its the best.

Putting up Heather's tree. This thing is a beast!!

Another reason I love Christmas... Fun socks!!!

Me and little Rookie dog

I love Heather's outfit!

Our first Christmas tree. Jon's mom and sis brought it to us. We were so excited because we really weren't sure if we would have one this year.

While we were decorating Titan came over to us with this stuck to his nose!! He wanted to be apart of the decorating too. Our Rudolph dog!

Its like this sign was made for us
